UiPath Launches Cartographer and Coding Agents at FUSION 2026 for Enterprise Automation

On September 23, 2026, enterprise automation and agentic orchestration platform provider UiPath announced major product updates during its keynote at the annual FUSION 2026 conference held at the Wynn Las Vegas. Headlining the announcements was the general availability (GA) of UiPath Cartographer—a new solution that transforms fragmented enterprise process knowledge into an actionable 'Map of Work'—along with the general availability of UiPath Coding Agents and the desktop-governed AI agent UiPath Delegate.

The announcements at FUSION 2026 address a core operational challenge in enterprise automation: moving beyond isolated agent demos into reliable production by grounding AI agents in complete process context and orchestrating boundaries across people, agents, and robots.

Building the 'Map of Work' with UiPath Cartographer

The flagship announcement of the keynote, UiPath Cartographer, is designed to synthesize dispersed institutional knowledge into a unified, actionable view of enterprise operations.

During his keynote address, UiPath CEO Daniel Dines noted that large language models alone cannot take operational responsibility or learn enterprise workflows without strict, accurate context. Cartographer addresses this by compiling a comprehensive manual of how business processes actually execute.

  • Living Map of Work: Cartographer ingests process flowcharts, process-mining diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), system telemetry, and employee interview feedback to construct and maintain an enterprise-specific operational map.
  • Full Traceability: Every fact, step, and data point within the Map of Work remains traceable directly back to its source documentation or system record.
  • Build-Ready Specifications: The system generates standardized design documentation and build-ready technical specifications reflecting real-world operating conditions.

Enterprise customers including SMBC, Medline, and Mayo Clinic joined UiPath on stage to showcase how structured operational mapping is being applied in complex institutional environments.

General Availability of UiPath Coding Agents and Desktop Delegate

Productivity and development toolsets also advanced to general availability across the UiPath ecosystem.

UiPath Coding Agents, first unveiled in May 2026, are now generally available on the UiPath Platform. The coding agents assist engineering teams in discovering automation opportunities, accelerating development, and optimizing workflows across the entire application lifecycle.

Alongside Coding Agents, UiPath released UiPath Delegate, a governed desktop AI agent that interacts directly with knowledge workers within pre-configured organizational compliance and security boundaries. Connected with the Maestro orchestration plane, Delegate coordinates with backend software robots and human operators to execute dynamic, multi-step workflows.

Enterprise Governance, Integrations, and Adoption Considerations

UiPath also strengthened data integration and compliance capabilities across its platform. A two-way integration with Snowflake was released on the Snowflake Marketplace, enabling bidirectional connectivity between automated workflows and governed enterprise data.

Enterprises evaluating these new capabilities should account for several verified operational considerations:

  • Licensing and Metering Verification: Pricing structures and specific consumption units for newly GA tools—including Cartographer, Delegate, and Coding Agents—were not published in public press releases and require confirmation within custom enterprise order forms.
  • Phased Capabilities on Roadmap: Advanced capabilities, such as the Decision Ledger for auditable agent reasoning and end-to-end autonomous testing, remain on the forward-looking product roadmap rather than immediate GA deployment.
