The application is built around a Commander agent that breaks user goals down into to-do items and delegates tasks across built-in specialists and external CLI coding tools.
Commander and 16 Built-In Specialist Agents
Orkas maintains project state, files, and memory locally so ongoing tasks persist across sessions.
- Commander Agent: Deconstructs goals, assigns steps to the right agents, and coordinates task execution.
- 16 Specialist Agents: Covers research (DeepResearcher, SeoGeoAgent, StockAnalyser), content and media (ContentWriter, PptMaker, ImageStudio, VideoStudio, VoiceStudio, UIDesigner), build and office (ProductDeveloper, OfficeWorker), and five e-commerce roles.
- External CLI Integration: Runs local sessions of Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, OpenClaw, and Hermes-Agent alongside built-in specialists.
Automation and Model Flexibility
- Scheduled Automations: Repeats tasks hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly. From v1.9, each automation catches up its most recent missed run within 12 hours when the computer wakes or Orkas starts.
- BYOK or Built-In: Use the built-in Orkas model (includes 500 starting credits) or configure your own API keys for major providers or local OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
