Through this collaboration, US Galaxy smartphone users will be able to send cross-border remittances using USDC on the Solana blockchain directly inside the native Samsung Wallet app starting the final week of October 2026.
Native Embedded Transfer Experience Inside Samsung Wallet
The defining architectural feature of this integration is that it is embedded directly inside Samsung Wallet rather than operating as a standalone external wallet app.
- Unified Surface: Users initiate money transfers directly from the same interface where they already manage payment cards, digital IDs, and boarding passes.
- Solana Under the Hood: The Solana blockchain network operates seamlessly behind the scenes, eliminating the need for typical cryptocurrency friction.
- Infrastructure Architecture: Leveraging Web3 infrastructure partnerships including Bastion, the system blends traditional consumer financial UX with high-performance Web3 rails.
By abstracting blockchain complexities such as manual seed phrases and fluctuating gas calculations, Samsung Wallet delivers an international transfer experience comparable to native mobile banking.
Solana-Powered USDC Remittance and Network Scale
Samsung's selection of Solana and USDC as its international remittance rails is driven by Solana's settlement speed, minimal transaction fees, and proven stablecoin liquidity.
According to the Solana Foundation, the Solana network has processed over $5.25 trillion in stablecoin transaction volume in 2026 alone.
- High-Throughput Settlement: High transaction speeds reduce cross-border settlement confirmation times to seconds.
- Predictable Low-Cost Fees: Significantly undercuts legacy cross-border rails such as SWIFT in transaction fees and settlement delays.
Rollout Timeline and Availability Limits
The stablecoin transfer service is following a staged distribution plan:
- Initial Scope: Approximately 82 million Galaxy devices in the US market supporting Samsung Wallet.
- Release Date: Staged rollout beginning the last week of October 2026.
- Supported Asset: Exclusively limited to Solana-based USDC (USD Coin).
Global expansion timelines, including South Korea and European markets, have not yet been announced and will depend on localized regulatory and financial compliance frameworks.
