Monid Raises $7.7M to Build 'OpenRouter for Agent Tools'

On October 7, 2026, AI agent tooling platform Monid announced that it has raised $7.7 million in seed funding and launched its dedicated marketplace for agent tools. The platform aims to serve as the "OpenRouter for agent tools," extending model routing economics into the runtime tool-calling layer.

The seed round was led by Long Journey VC, with participation from Madrona Ventures, 1984 Ventures, Essence Venture, Pioneer Fund, BabyAGI creator Yohei Nakajima, and notable angel investors.

2,500 APIs via Single Connection and Runtime Tool Execution

Monid's core architecture consolidates the fragmented setup where developers had to create individual accounts and manage separate subscriptions for every SaaS API an agent needs.

By connecting an agent to Monid's single unified interface, agents can dynamically discover, execute, and settle payments for tools directly at runtime. At launch, the platform announced an initial catalog of approximately 2,500 integrated APIs.

  • Supported Tool Domains: Lead generation, web search and SEO, marketing automation, e-commerce data, financial and stock indicators, multimodal generation (video, image, music, 3D), and dedicated agent communications (email and phone).
  • Dynamic Runtime Discovery: Enables autonomous agents to identify and invoke the necessary tool on the fly rather than relying on hardcoded static API integrations.

Subscription-Free, Pay-per-Call Infrastructure for Agent Economics

Monid's central value proposition is restructuring the pricing model of AI agent infrastructure.

Traditionally, building an agent capable of multi-domain workflows required subscribing to multiple monthly recurring software tiers, creating steep fixed overhead regardless of actual usage. Monid eliminates these fixed subscription commitments in favor of a pay-per-call model tied strictly to execution volume.

This approach gives developers predictable unit economics aligned with actual agent throughput. However, exact per-call pricing and availability across the initial 2,500 API catalog depend on individual third-party provider terms and integration endpoints.
