Mirage Releases Tesseract: Video-to-Project AI Workflow Tool

On October 28, 2026, Mirage introduced Tesseract, an AI-powered workflow tool designed to turn reference videos into fully editable projects. The system connects external AI models with traditional editing pipelines, allowing editors to analyze existing video material and adapt it into structured project files.

Video Reference Analysis and Agent-Driven Project Generation

Tesseract interfaces directly with Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's ChatGPT. By supplying a video URL or uploading a video file directly, editors give the agent a concrete visual reference to establish project timelines and layout foundations.

  • Reference Ingestion: Paste an existing video link or upload media files directly.
  • Conversational Iteration: Instruct the AI agent in natural language on specific timing, pacing, and visual adjustments.
  • Continuous Refinement: Iterate with Claude or ChatGPT to restructure timeline elements before finalizing.

Adobe Project Conversion Has Partial Support

Tesseract can exchange editable projects with Adobe applications, but Mirage's official compatibility guide warns that some effects and project settings can change or be omitted during conversion. Editors need to inspect the converted timelines and previews.

  • Adobe After Effects: Project import has partial, best-effort support; export is experimental and partial.
  • Adobe Premiere Pro: Both project import and export have partial support.

Not every Adobe project feature transfers intact. Effects, transitions, third-party plugins, and some project settings have conversion limits.

Onboarding and Conversion Checks

Mirage provides installation and usage guidance through mirage.app/tesseract. When exchanging projects with another editing application, check the following:

  • Support by direction: Premiere Pro and After Effects import and export each have distinct limitations. After Effects export is experimental.
  • Review the conversion: Opening the project does not guarantee a visual match. Check timing, effects, fonts, and linked media.
