Google reported that Carbon ranked #1 on v5.0 of the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index and set a new state of the art in cybersecurity and long-horizon capabilities.
Frontier Alignment and Structured Collaboration
Google says Carbon handles high-pressure tasks with stronger alignment, transparency, and follow-through. When information is missing, it flags discrepancies and asks before acting instead of guessing or cutting corners.
Google also says Carbon carries out multi-step plans from start to finish while staying in scope and respecting project boundaries.
Cybersecurity Lifecycle Benchmarks and Secure Coding
Google reported the following results across the cybersecurity defense lifecycle:
- Vulnerability Detection: 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro.
- Exploitation Validation: 54.8% on ExploitGym.
- Root-Cause Patching: 71.0% on Collinear CWE-bench.
- Prompt Injection Defense: 0.0% attack success on Gray Swan's Indirect Prompt Injection Benchmark.
On internal benchmarks, Carbon drove an over 2x uplift in secure code generation success rates compared to Gemini 4 Argon. This comparison relies on Google's internal benchmarks.
Phased Rollout via the Fairwind Program
Google says its goal is to deliver frontier performance without compromising safety.
Rollout begins this week for cyber defenders through the Google Fairwind Program. Expanded access for developers, businesses, and consumers will follow.
