OpenAI Unveils 'Intelligent UI' with Interactive Visuals and Rolls Out GPT-6 Globally
OpenAI has unveiled 'Intelligent UI' in ChatGPT, enabling interactive diagrams, buttons, and tools in chat responses, powered by GPT-6 Sol for paid tiers and GP
On October 7, 2026, OpenAI officially announced 'Intelligent UI', an update that enables ChatGPT to generate interactive user interfaces—including tappable buttons, diagrams, forms, and custom tools—directly within chat conversations, alongside a global rollout of GPT-6 to users.

The update expands chatbot interaction beyond static text responses by allowing the model to generate interactive visual components inline when answering user queries. Alongside the feature release, OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 across ChatGPT tiers.
Dynamic Interfaces Over Static Text: How Intelligent UI Works
Intelligent UI allows ChatGPT to construct functional, interactive visual components directly in the conversation thread rather than relying solely on text paragraphs.
In its official announcement, OpenAI highlighted several primary use cases demonstrating the feature:
- Bicycle Design Breakdown: Rather than listing structural parts in bullet points, ChatGPT renders an interactive diagram with tappable component buttons, allowing users to inspect individual parts directly.
- Dinner and Meal Planning: Users receive an interactive planner to organize recipes and meals visually rather than through plain text lists.
- Wardrobe Builder: The chat generates visual interfaces to arrange and plan wardrobe items and outfits directly in conversation.
- Receipt-Based Bill Splitting: ChatGPT generates an interactive calculator widget directly from receipt data, allowing participants to adjust and split shares on the spot.
In its announcement, OpenAI stated that it trained GPT-6 on when to generate interactive visuals over text explanations, as well as how to format them within its responses.
Tiered Model Infrastructure: GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna
Alongside the interface upgrade, OpenAI has structured the GPT-6 backend models according to subscription tiers:
- Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise (Paid Tiers): Powered by GPT-6 Sol, serving paid accounts across the Chat tab with Intelligent UI capabilities.
- Free and Go Tiers: Powered by GPT-6 Luna, bringing the GPT-6 experience and interactive visual tools to free and Go users.
The global rollout began on October 7, 2026, in the Chat tab for paid subscribers (Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise), and expands to Free and Go users starting October 8.
Practical Considerations and Rollout Availability
While Intelligent UI enhances visual interaction for everyday tasks and complex explanations, users should keep key rollout factors in mind.
Because the release is deploying progressively across global infrastructure, availability in the model selector may vary by user account and region. Users who do not yet see GPT-6 in their model menu may need to allow time for rollout to reach their account.
Additionally, because paid subscribers are served by GPT-6 Sol while Free and Go tiers run on GPT-6 Luna, users should note the distinct model assignments when using ChatGPT across different plan tiers.
