Midjourney Opens Limited MCP Community Test for Artistic and Creative Use

Midjourney's verified official account (@midjourney) announced on October 10, 2026 that it wants to start testing a Midjourney MCP (Model Context Protocol) with a limited community. According to the original post, the goal is to find creative and technical people who can push the boundaries of what its models can do.

The notable point in this announcement is its explicitly limited scope. The original post states this is not for using Midjourney inside SaaS products, but for purely artistic and creative endeavors.

What Was Announced and How to Apply

The same author posted a follow-up reply right after the original post with an application link. The original post also includes an invitation to apply below.

  • Who it is for: Creative and technical people who can push the models' boundaries
  • Scope: Limited to purely artistic and creative purposes, not use inside SaaS products
  • How to apply: Through the application link in the follow-up reply (https://midjourney.typeform.com/to/iIfEOfZ1)

No concrete MCP specifications — such as technical specs, endpoints, or installation documentation — were disclosed in the original post. Details such as cohort size, selection criteria, and schedule need to be checked on the application page.

What Is Confirmed and What Is Not

The primary evidence for this story is a single X post plus the same author's follow-up application link, with no additional web corroboration. The article therefore covers only what the original post directly states.

  • Confirmed: Intent to start a limited community test, recruitment of creative and technical talent, restriction to artistic and creative purposes, exclusion of SaaS-product use, application link provided
  • Not confirmed: MCP technical specs, supported clients, test schedule, selection criteria, cohort size

Creators or technical community members who match the stated conditions can check the details on the application page and submit from there.
